What is CDDB?

CDDB is a disc recognition technology powered by Gracenote (http://www.gracenote.com).

It is a web-based service that can help users to recognize Audio-CD information. For example, you just need to insert the Audio-CD into your computer and your software application will link to the CDDB database to retrieve the album information for you automatically.

If used in conjunction with ID3 tagging, users can record an Audio-CD into MP3 files while the track information from CDDB is already there without any extra steps.
