Does SoftDMA 2.0 work as a DMR (Digital Media Renderer), which can receive and play the media content requested from DMC (Digital Media Controller)?

Yes. Select Settings on the Home page to configure CyberLink SoftDMA. Within the Remote Device Permissions option, select whether to allow digital media controllers (DMC)/devices (Internet tablets, Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDA), etc.) to access and play back media using this computer. Enabling this function converts your computer into a digital media renderer (DMR), if required.
