How to I use soft proofing feature in CyberLink PhotoDirector 365?

Soft proofing feature helps you match the image color on the screen with the color that will be printed by printers. This allows you to preview your photo with improved color precision for printing before it is outputted by printer devices. 

To use soft proofing feature, do this:

1. Set up a working printer on your PC.
2. Select a photo in PhotoDirector's library, and then click the Adjust module.
3. Select the Soft Proofing option at the top of the preview screen.
4. Select a color profile or use a color profile* that was added by an installed printer device in the Proofing settings -> Profile dropdown list. 
5. Select the Intent (Perceptual or Relative) you prefer to process the color matching.
   
   • Perceptual:
     Perceptual tries to map the photo's original color (that the printer color profile user selected does not contain) with less saturated colors as to best represent all the nuances of the color for printing preview. The original color will be changed to another one if the color profile does not contain the identical color from photos. 
   • Relative:
     Relative replaces original colors that are too saturated (comparing to the same color in the printer color profile user selected) with the nearest and most saturated ink color printable. 

The Soft Proofing color matching result will be displayed on your screen after applying the above steps accordingly.


Note:

* To add a color profile from an installed printer for soft proofing feature, do this:

1. After you select the Soft proofing feature in the Adjust module, click the Profile setting to open the drop down list.
2. Select Add From My Computer.
3. Select a printer you have installed and connected to PC, and then click OK to add the printer color profile to the Soft Proofing profile list.
