How do I ensure a smooth installation and operation of PowerDirector 5?

Apart from the system requirements, we recommend you follow these steps:

1.      Close all other applications, including anti-virus software and instant messaging programs

2.      Install IE5.5 or above onto your PC

3.      Install Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or above. If you purchased the boxed version, the setup program will automatically install the DirectX 9. However, if you purchase the download version or use the free trial version, you have to download this module from the Microsoft Web site or from another Web location.

4.      Check your hard disk DMA setting. Please check the properties page from the My Computer for the hardware settings list.
