How do I share and stream media (e.g. movies, videos, etc.) from my media library to other devices on a local home network in CyberLink PowerDVD 20 or PowerPlayer 365?

PowerDVD 20 Ultra edition, PowerDVD 365 subscription version, and PowerPlayer 365 now support the Media Library sharing feature, which allows you to share and stream media files from the media library to other devices on the same local home network, including Android phones, Apple iOS devices, or web browsers on other PCs.

To share media files to other home network devices via the media server sharing feature, do this:

1. Launch PowerDVD/PowerPlayer 365, and then import the media files you would like to share into the Media Library by the media type (e.g. movies, videos, photos, etc.).
2. For Movies/TV Library
1. Right click on the imported media files in the Media Library, and then select Share on Local Home Network.
2. Sign in with your CyberLink member account if you have not yet signed in. If you don't have an account, you can register one for free.
3. Create a new Collection or select an existed Collection to add the media files for sharing.
4. Click OK to add the shared files.
For Videos/Photos/Music Library
1. Right click on the media folder or album in the library, and then select Share on Local Home Network.
2. Sign in with your CyberLink member account if you have not yet signed in. If you don't have an account, you can register one for free.
3. Once imported and shared, you can manage your shared media by media type and collections on the My Shared Media (To Other Devices) tab in PowerDVD/PowerPlayer 365.

 

Note: 

1. To share the media library, the media library sharing PC must be powered on, signed in with user's Windows user account concurrently, with a non-blocked network connection.
2. Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD-Video/Audio CD discs, disk images (ISO), and disc folders are not supported for sharing on a home network.
3. The maximum video streaming resolution is HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) when streaming to Android/iOS mobile devices, and Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) when streaming playback to PCs.
4. To share and stream video files over 4 GB, Windows 64 bit platform is required.
5. The maximum amount of concurrent connections for playing the videos in your shared media library is dependent on the network connection and computing capacity of your PC that is hosting the shared media library.
