How do I enable the grayed out buttons 'frame', 'button layout' and 'button style' in Customize Menu steps?

They are grayed out because you have not yet enabled them. To do this, please follow these steps:

1. Click the Template icon.
2. From the drop-down list, select user-defined.
3. Click the plus (+ sign).
4. Navigate and select any JPEG or BMP file, then click Open.
5. It will now appear next to the Return arrow.
6. Click the Return arrow, and you will now see more buttons enabled.
