When I import a side-by-side or over-under 3D video clips into CyberLink PowerProducer 6, the program doesn’t recognize it as a 3D content. Why?

When a side-by-side or over-under 3D video is imported into the media library, you may need to set the source format of the 3D video. This is because 3D media comes in a variety of different video source formats. CyberLink PowerProducer needs to know the source format of each 3D media file so that it can display it properly in 3D.

To set the 3D source format of your 3D videos, do this:

1. Select the [Detect 3D video formats] option when importing the video.
   Note: it is not necessary to perform this step. However, if you find the video is not displaying correctly in 3D, then you can follow these steps to change the source format.
2. Right-click on a 3D video file in the author window, and then select [Set 3D Source Format].
3. Select the 3D source format by selecting one of the following:

• 2D: select this option if the selected media file is actually 2D content.
• Side by side format (Left Eye First / Right Eye First):
  Select this option if the 3D content has two different images side by side.
                      
• Over/Under format (Left Eye First / Right Eye First):
  Select this option if the 3D content has two different video images, one on top of the other.
                         

Note: If you want to use 3D video clips in a 2D video production, you still need to set the correct 3D source format to ensure it displays properly in 2D. CyberLink PowerProducer will incorporate the specified eye frames into your 2D video.
