Does PowerEncoder conform to any standard or is it a proprietary format?

For DV-AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4-PSP, DivX formats, they are standard formats and files created with these formats will be playable on basically on all PCs.

 

For H.264/AVC, even though we comply with the standard, the MPEG-4 AVC can only be played on systems with the PowerEncoder software installed on it.
