Does PowerDVD Copy compress Audio tracks?

No, PowerDVD does not compress Audio tracks. All the copied languages remain in the same format and the same quality as the original source disc. For example, if the audio track for the English language is encoded as Dolby Digital 5.1 on the source disc, it will remain as Dolby Digital 5.1 on the copied disc. The reason it only enables you to remove languages but not to compress them is because Audio Data, when compared to Video data, requires relatively less disc space. Very little space will be saved by compressing the audio data. As DVD movies usually contain several languages, we suggest you remove any unwanted languages. Removing unwanted languages from your DVD movie will not interfere with your enjoyment of the movie and will make it more efficient.
