What can I do if CyberLink PowerDirector export is unsuccessful or if there are video and audio issues in the produced video?
Symptom
CyberLink PowerDirector stops exporting, produced video previews with stuttering, black screens, no audio, etc..
Solution
There are many reasons that could cause production issues. Please try one or more of the following:
- Ensure your CyberLink PowerDirector is up-to-date.
You can check for software updates here. - Update graphics card driver to the latest.
You can download the latest driver from the AMD / NVIDIA / Intel’s web site based on your graphic card model. If you have any problem installing graphics card drivers, please contact your computer manufacturer or the manufacturer of the display and sound cards for the latest drivers. - Check whether the same condition occurs when using different video encoding option.
You can change the video encoding settings by going to Export Page > Advanced to open the Advanced Settings dialog. If you encountered the problem while using "Software Encoding", try switching to "Hardware Encoding". Conversely, if the problem occurred while using "Hardware Encoding", try switching to "Software Encoding". - Set the Frame Rate and the Bit Rate to match these of the source media file in the Export Page.
Frame rate inconsistency or a lower bit rate between the source video and the produced video can result in choppy or jerky output, audio-video sync problems, and other playback issues. - Produce in H.264 MP4 file format.
This format is generally compatible with most devices. If you have trouble with producing in other file formats (e.g., H.265, MPEG-2, etc.), try producing in H.264 MP4 to check if it resolves the concern.
If you still can’t resolve the problem, you can contact CyberLink Technical Support. Before contacting Technical Support, please prepare the following information for our investigation. The more info you provide, the more we can understand your issue.
- DxDiag.txt
- Pack Project Materials (PPM)
- Screenshot of the Export Page
- Produced video showing your concern
Pack Project Materials:
- Open the project you edit in PowerDirector.
- Click File > Pack Project Materials to pack the project file and the media files to an empty personal folder.
- Compress the whole project folder as a single zip file.
- Upload the zip file to your cloud storage.
