Why is the DV QuickScan function can't work?

Some DV brands may have compatibility problems with the QuickScan function in Capture mode. This may be because the DV rewinding mechanism is quite different in various DV models. We strongly suggest you to follow the advice in the QuickScan Notice. For example, the DV tape should not have blanks in the middle of a recording. If your DV is unable to conduct the QuickScan function successfully, you are advised to capture the video with the normal Record/Stop buttons.
