CyberLink PowerDirector crashed when adding video effects from certain NewBlue video plugins. What can I do?
For the condition that the PowerDirector program crashes when users add video effects/templates from certain 3rd-party NewBlue plugins (e.g., NewBlue Stabilizer, Elements 3 Energizer, Filters 5 Refocus, etc.), after our engineering team's investigation, they found the crash issue was caused by that the 3rd-party NewBlue plugin not launching its effect module properly in PowerDirector. This compatibility issue conflicts with and crashes the PowerDirector program.
As CyberLink is not the developer and vendor of the NewBlue plugins, we are afraid we do not have access to the technical details of the plugins. This issue is not resolve-able by changing or updating just the program code of CyberLink PowerDirector.
We suggest you contact NewBlue for further technical support to investigate and seek possible solutions to resolve the plugin compatibility issues on the NewBlue software side. It could be the most feasible action for resolving the NewBlue plugin concern:
