When I import a video clip into PowerDirector, how come it appears as black in the preview window?

This is due to the resolution of your screen is too high. The current version/build of PowerDirector does not support resolutions higher than 1280x1024. Your will therefore have to adjust your setting to either 1024x768 or 1280x1024 to resolve this issue.

We are currently in the process of providing a patch to support higher screen resolutions, so please visit our downloads from time-to-time to check for this patch.
