The M2TS/XAVC-S/AVI file formats, the Device option in the produce page, Batch Export & Transition Designer were removed in CyberLink PowerDirector 365 after Apr. 2024. What can I do?

While CyberLink keeps developing new editing features and adjusting the UI to adapt to every new change between PowerDirector versions, it has been challenging for CyberLink to keep supporting the features whose usage rates have gradually declined in the recent years. And therefore, we decided to remove the following features in PowerDirector 365 after Apr. 2024:

  • M2TS, XAVC-S, AVI file formats in the produce page,
  • Device option (DV, HDV, HDD, Android, Apple, Sony & Microsoft) in the produce page,
  • Batch Export,
  • Transition Designer.

Please check the workarounds for each removal below if needed:

  • For M2TS, XAVC-S and AVI file formats in the produce page, you are advised to export your PowerDirector video projects with the currently-supported and the popular file formats (e.g. H.264 or H.265, MP4).
  • For Android, Apple, Sony and Microsoft options in the previous Device option, you can export the projects directly with the common file formats (e.g. H.264, MP4) since they are generally compatible with most portable devices.
  • For DV, HDV, HDD options in the previous Device option, we suggest exporting the video in MPEG-2 format, as it is supported by most of those devices. If not, you may need to look for a video converter to transcode the video into the compatible formats for those devices.
  • For Batch Export feature, you are advised to export your PowerDirector video projects in the produce page one by one.
  • For Transition Designer feature, as CyberLink adds new transition effects to PowerDirector from time to time, you may check them to see if they meet your expectation. Since there is no custom transition designer option currently, you can also share your ideas with us as a transition effect development reference: https://www.cyberlink.com/support/index.html
