What is the difference between PowerDirector 3.0 and PowerDirector 4.0?

PowerDirector 4.0 is a major upgrade version of PowerDirector. CyberLink has renovated the entire feature set to improve its functionality and redesigned its interface to be even more friendly and flexible for every home video producer.

The major new features of PowerDirector 4.0 include:

1. Revolutionary Magic Tools

  • MagicClean: Enhance your video and remove audio noise instantly.
  • MagicMotion: Add a zoom or pan effect to portrait or landscape pictures, with automatic human and object focusing capability.
  • MagicCut: Magically condense the original video length to any given duration. Perform automatic cutting to simplify the process.
  • MagicMusic: Magically create background music to fit any length of foreground video.
  • Cyberlink RichVideo: Accelerate the scene detection and MagicCut steps by analyzing the video content and embedding it with the MPEG/AVI files.

2. All New Powerful Editing Tools

  • Automatic DVD Chaptering: automatically set chapter points in the new Chapter track.
  • Multiple Trim: cut one video clip into several clips within one simple cutting slider.
  • SVRT Information: simulate the SVRT result without actual rendering. Includes detailed reports on SVRT status.
  • DV Manual Scan: capture digital video by manually setting the in and out times in batches.

3. Greatly improved timeline editing environment

  • Auto master video alignment and track lock: focus on the master video and PowerDirector will automatically adjust the length of other side tracks to facilitate the overall timeline arrangement. Use track locks to override the auto master video alignment.
