The Vimeo video backup and YouTube account related features (e.g., My Favorites) have deprecated in the Online Media Backup tool in CyberLink Power2Go. What's the cause of that and what can I do?
The Online Media Backup tool of CyberLink Power2Go requires users connect to the Vimeo and YouTube servers to access the online video related features.
Because of the connection protocol and authorization for the Vimeo and YouTube servers have changed, they have deprecated the Vimeo video backup and YouTube account sign-in related features in CyberLink Power2Go. Also, over the past few years, the usage rate of the Power2Go Vimeo and YouTube features has largely declined as well. As a result, it is no longer feasible for CyberLink to continue maintaining the connection and account access compatibility with the Vimeo and YouTube platforms in CyberLink Power2Go, and the following features are no longer available:
- All of Vimeo's video browsing and backup options.
- YouTube's My Favorites, Playlists, etc. options that require users to sign in to accounts. (Most Viewed on YouTube and search for/paste URL from YouTube is still available)
The options of the aforementioned deprecated features will be removed in the new version of Power2Go 13 (from the version 5318), and we will be reassigning the freed up resources towards the research and development of newer multimedia features.
To watch videos on Vimeo or access the personal video lists on YouTube, we suggest you browse the videos on Vimeo and YouTube websites directly in your web browser, which is also the official solution that Vimeo and YouTube suggest. You can consult your online video service provider (Vimeo and YouTube) to find out if they offer any video backup solutions.
