Error: The partition layout is not valid for performing backups pops up when using CyberLink Power2Go. What can I do?

 

Symptom

When using the System Recovery function, CyberLink Power2Go pops up the error message "The Partition layout is not valid for performing backups on."

Cause

When you receive this error message, there are two possible causes:

  1. This is due to your OS/Boot partition and System partition not being located on the same Hard Drive.
  2. There is more than one Windows Recovery Partition on your hard drive.

 

If your computer doesn't have one of the described scenarios above but it still receives the error "The partition layouy is not valid for performing backups on.", you can contact CyberLink Technical Support and provide us with a screenshot of Disk Management so we can help you further with this error.

To get partition information you may go through My Computer > Manage > Disk Management. (As shown in picture below)
