What's the difference between LightScribe discs and general disc?

LightScribe discs are special discs made just for LightScribe drivers. With these discs it is possible to imprint the image directly onto the disc rather than onto a label. The label sides of LightScribe-enabled discs have a special coating that reacts chemically when a laser beam is applied to it. The image is then burned onto the disc. The driver itself is able to recognize these special discs and will not imprint/burn on other discs.
