After launching InstantBurn 5, "!" appears on the InstantBurn task tray indicator and the application fails. How to solve it?

Here are some useful steps which may help you solve this problem,

  1. Check if your burner is supported by Intantburn 5: "Supported CD/DVD burners for InstantBurn"
  2. Check the working status of your burner in the Explorer or Device Manager.  You have to make sure your burning device works on your operating system. If the drive is still not recognized in the Explorer or the Device Manager, confirm the drive's functionality with the manufacturer.
  3. If your drive is recognized in the Explorer or the Device Manager and you cannot use InstantBurn, please check the ASPI driver. Under Windows XP and Windows 2000, the ASPI driver is not required in general, however some 3rd party programs overwrite the ASPI Manager. This can lead to drives not being recognized or transfer speed errors. In this case you will have to delete and reinstall the ASPI Manager.  For Windows 98 and Windows Me, please download latest ASPI driver and install it.
