My HDR videos are not playing with the HDR (High Dynamic Range) effect. How do I set up my PC to play HDR video files in CyberLink PowerDVD 19 or later versions?
Before playing HDR video files in CyberLink PowerDVD 19 Ultra or later versions, you are advised to ensure your display setup is fully compatible to display HDR and that the Windows display settings are configured in advance.
Please do this:
- Connect your HDR display device on the display output that's powered by an HDR compatible graphics processor.
- Enable the HDR display feature in Windows display settings using the following steps.
(1) Select the Start button, then select Settings > System > Display .
(2) If you have multiple displays connected to your PC, choose the HDR-capable display under Rearrange your displays.
(3) Select Windows HD Color settings.
(4) Under Display capabilities, check to make sure it says Yes next to Use HDR.
(5) Turn ON Use HDR*. - Launch PowerDVD, and then start the HDR video playback.
After the playback has ended, you are advised to restore (turn OFF) the aforementioned Use HDR setting in step 2.
* For Ultra HD Blu-ray HDR playback, the HDR effect is only available at full screen mode using an Intel GPU. Also, the Use HDR setting must be turned OFF in step 2 before you start the playback.
