This problem is caused because your VGA card can not enable the overlay function.
We suggest that you do the following:
- Close all other applications that would use overlay (Like Windows Media Player or other DVD players). Since Most display cards support only one overlay. If it is used by other applications, then PowerDVD will not be able to access it.
- Install DirectX 7.0, if you did not know where to download DirectX 7.0, then you can visit the Microsoft Web site to download. (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en). Some display drivers require the latest DirectX to work. However please do NOT install DirectX 8 right now.
- Please lower your screen resolution, color depth, and refresh rate. If this still does not work, we suggest that you try to upgrade your VGA card.
