How can I create System Recovery Discs/USB Drives in CyberLink Power2Go 12?

Power2Go 12's System Recovery feature supports backing up your Windows OS computer on Blu-ray/DVD discs or on a removable USB storage in Utilities > System Recovery on Disc or System Recovery on USB Drive tools.

To use the System Recovery feature, you need to first install the Windows Assessment and Deployment kit in advance by the following steps:

  1. Download the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) depending on your Windows version from below links:

    For Windows 10: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/dn913721.aspx
    For Windows 8.1: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39982
    For Windows 8: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30652
    For Windows 7: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5753
  2. Install Windows ADK.

When Windows ADK is installed* , open Power2Go 12 and follow the steps below to burn system recovery discs.

  1. Select the Utilities option and then select System Recovery on Disc.
  2. Follow the instructions in the system recovery wizard to complete the burning process.

In addition to disc burning, if you want to create a system recovery on a removable USB storage, please do this:

  1. Connect the removable USB storage drive to computer.
  2. Select the Utilities option and then select System Recovery on USB Drive.
  3. Select the USB storage drive** you want to create the system recovery.
  4. Follow the instructions in the system recovery wizard to complete the creation process.

Note:

* If the Power2Go program cannot detect your installed ADK location properly, please select <Program Files>\Windows Kits\10\Assessment and Deployment Kits\Windows Preinstallation Environment\amd64\en-us\winpe.wim in the Burn Recovery Disc final step. If you are using 64bit version Windows, then select <Program Files (x86)> \Windows Kits\10\Assessment and Deployment Kits\Windows Preinstallation Environment\amd64\en-us\winpe.wim.

** To create the system recovery on a removable USB storage drive, all of your personal data originally stored on the USB drive will be completely deleted/formatted. The data deletion is an unrecoverable action. You are advised to back up the data in advance if you want to use the USB storage drive as the system recovery disk.
