Blu-ray Disc requires specific drives for disc playback. It is not possible for a DVD drive to recognize and burn data onto Blu-ray Disc discs. Blu-ray Disc drives are also not compatible with each other. However, Blu-ray Disc drive is reverse compatible, i.e. capable of playing your DVD titles.
