What can I do if I get a blank playback screen in PowerDVD's VR mode on a laptop that has more than one graphics processor?

If you get a blank playback screen when trying to play back media files in PowerDVD's VR mode, it is most likely because it is using your integrated graphics card. To fix this, you need to set it use your dedicated NVIDIA graphics processor in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

To configure the NVIDIA Control Panel settings, please do this:

1. Ensure your graphics driver is updated to the latest version.
2. Right click on your Windows desktop, and then select NVIDIA control panel.
3. Select Manage 3D settings from the panel setting list.
4. Select Program Settings.
5. Click the Add button to search for and select the PowerDVDVR.exe in Windows file explorer.
   The location* of the PowerDVDVR.exe is below:
   32bit OS - C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD17\
   64bit OS - C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD17\
6. Expand the drop down list, and then select NVIDIA-High Performance Processor to launch PowerDVD VR mode.
   
7. Save the setting, and launch PowerDVD VR mode to check the playback condition.

 

Note:

* The PowerDVDVR.exe stored path may differ for users who installed PowerDVD in a custom folder.
