How do I use the new Advanced Overlay Editing window in CyberLink PowerDirector 365?

In the new version of PowerDirector 365 (released after July 2024), the Advanced Overlay Editing window (formerly known as PiP Designer) has been redesigned.

If you want to perform advanced editing on a video/image/color board/sticker, click the Advanced button on the quick edit panel to enter the Advanced Overlay Editing window.

The new Advanced Overlay Editing window is separated into three tabs: Properties, Cutout and Animation.

  • Properties contains:
    • Position/Size/Flip
    • Blend
    • Fade
    • Border
    • Shadow
    • Reflection
  • Cutout contains AI Background Remover (Not for color boards/stickers)  & Chroma Key
  • Animation contains In/Out/Loop animation.

To learn more about Advanced Overlay Editing, please refer to the tutorial on the PowerDirector online help portal.

Note:

  1. The following options in the new Advanced Overlay Editing window have been removed because the usage of these options has declined, or they have been replaced by other features:

    • The Motion tab. You can still add position keyframes to create the motion of the clips.
    • Top menu bar
    • TV safe zone
    • Switch between Clip/Movie timecode
    • Display/Hide Keyframe Timeline
    • The preview window zoom in/out buttons. You can still select the options in the viewer zoom menu on the playback control bar, or hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and then use your mouse's scroll wheel to zoom in/out.
